Bhubaneswar, April 17: Odisha has reported as many as 3,144 new COVID-19 cases, 952 recoveries and four more deaths in the last 24 hours, informed the State Health and Family Welfare Department on Friday.
Of the total cases, 1,823 cases were detected from among the quarantined people while 1,321 cases were local contacts.
These new cases have been detected in 30 districts of the State. This apart, 110 cases were reported from the State Pool.
Sundergarh is the worst hit district with 523 cases followed by Khurda with 497 cases and Nuapada 395 positive cases.
With this, the total cases rose to 3,64,594 with 19,077 active cases.
With four more people succumbing to the disease in Bolangir, Jharsuguda, Kalahandi and Sambalpur districts, the virus toll mounted to 1,942 in the State today.
The State also recorded three more fresh casualties in Bolangir, Sambalpur and Ganjam districts due to the virus. With this, the virus death toll mounted to 1,938.
