IPS Reshuffle: Yeshwant Jethwa new Vigilance Director

Bhubaneswar, June 24: The Odisha Government on Thursday effected a reshuffle of senior IPS officers in the State.

According to a Home Department notification, 1994-batch IPS officer Sanjeeb Panda has been appointed ADG Crime Branch. He has been also been assigned additional charge of CMD, Odisha State Police Housing and Welfare Corporation (OSPHWC). Panda was Transport Commissioner, Odisha

Sudhanshu Sarangi of 1990-batch, who was CMD OSPHWC, has been posted as Officer on Special Duty (OSD) in the Home Department.

Similarly, 1994-batch IPS officer Yeshwant Kumar Jethwa has been appointed as the new Director Vigilance. Jethwa will take charge of the post following the demise of incumbent Debasis Panigrahi recently after being infected with COVID-19. Jethwa was ADG (Law and Order) and was in additional charge of Crime Branch.

While1992-batch IPS officer Lalit Das has been posted as Director Intelligence, 1995-batch IPS officer RK Sharma, at present Director, Intelligence has been transferred and posted as Additional DG of Police, (Law and Order).

Similarly, 1996-batch IPS officer Arun Bothra, at present CMD, OSRTC & CEO CRUT has been transferred and posted as Transport Commissioner while 1997-batch IPS officer Asheet Kumar Panigrahi, at present IG, Home Guards and Fire Services has been transferred and posted as IG, Vigilance, the notification said.
