Bhubaneswar, November 17: Senior Odisha cadre IPS officer Ghanshyam Upadhyay was appointed as the new Joint Director of Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).
The 1999-batch officer was among the three top cops, who have been appointed as JD CBI.
Other two are Maharashtra cadre 1995 batch IPS Nawal Bajaj and Tamil Nadu cadre 1998 batch IPS officer Vidya Jayant Kulkarni.
The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the induction of three IPS officers as the Joint Directors of the central investigating agency.
These senior IPS officers were appointed for a period of five years.
