Bolangir, January 9: Noted essayist, critic and Kendra Sahitya Akademi Yuva Purashkar award winner Chandrasekhar Hota was awarded the prestigious Mathkhai Samman-2023 at the Mathakhai Mahotsav and All India Multi-Lingual Drama festival organised by Mathakhai Mahotsav committee and Bhumika here on Monday.
Bolangir MP Sangeeta Kumari Singh Deo, Bolangir MLA Narasingha Mishra felicitated Hota with the award at a function presided over by Byasadev Nanda. Professor Madhusudan Pati also graced the occasion.
“I am very honoured to be awarded the Mathkhai Samman-2023. It will always hold a special place in my heart,” said the cop and author.
Even as he commands a sizeable fan following for his literary creations, but not many people are aware that writing is not his profession but passion as he serves in police department. He is now serving as the DSP in Nabarangpur district.
