OMC donates Rs 100 crore to CMRF for Harischandra & Mahaprayan schemes

Bhubaneawar, March 31: The State-owned Odisha Mining Corporation (OMC) on Friday contributed Rs 100 crore to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund (CMRF) for the “Harischandra Sahayata” and “Mahaprayan” Yojanas.

Steel and Mines Minister Prafulla Kumar Mallik handed over cheque of this amount to Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik at the latter’s residence Naveen Niwas here. Additional Chief Secretary (Steel and Mines Department) Deoranjan Singh and OMC Managing Director Balwant Singh were also present.

Under the Harischandra Sahayata Yojana, the poor and destitute get financial assistance to perform last rites of their family member while Mahaprayan Yojana has been implemented to help the people to carry the dead body of their near and dear from the place of death to residence.
