Cabinet nod to Odisha Semiconductor Manufacturing & Fabless Policy

Bhubaneswar, July 21: The State Cabinet headed by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Friday approved the Odisha Semiconductor Manufacturing and Fabless Policy to facilitate investors to enter into manufacturing of Semiconductor/Electronic Chips in Odisha.

Under the policy, at least one Semiconductor Manufacturing Unit and 100 Fabless design companies will be set up in Odisha.

They are expected to generate around 5000 direct employment and 20,000 indirect employment during the policy period of seven years.

The State Cabinet meeting held today approved a total of 17 proposals moved by different departments.

The Odisha Cabinet approved a budget of Rs 1,001.14 crore for expansion of comprehensive care services across the state. A total of 11 comprehensive cancer units will be set up to provide cancer care nearer to the households of patients and reduce their out-of-pocket expenses.

It also approved a bid worth Rs 103.45 crore for wwidening and strengthening of Marshaghai-Jamboo road in Kendrapara district. The project, which will be completed in 21 months, will ensure better connectivity, reduce traffic and boost economic development.
