Bhubaneswar: An advisory issued by the District Magistrate of Khordha has informed the public about a scheduled civil defence mock drill to be held in Bhubaneswar today, May 7, 2025. The drill will take place between 4:00 PM and 4:30 PM, specifically in areas stretching from Rajmahal Chhaka to Sishu Bhawan Chhaka.
As per the advisory, this exercise is being conducted under the direction of the Government of India and the Government of Odisha to test the readiness of civil defence and other emergency authorities. The simulation will include sirens to simulate air raid alerts and aims to evaluate emergency response mechanisms.
The District Magistrate has urged citizens not to panic or spread rumours, emphasizing that this is only a routine preparedness drill and not a sign of any actual emergency or conflict. The advisory also assures that no emergency services will be disrupted during the exercise.
Residents in the affected areas are advised to cooperate with authorities and remain calm while the drill is in progress.
