Bhubaneswar: At least 61 cases, including the murder of Swami
Lakshmanananda Saraswati and Nayagarh armoury loot case, are pending against
Maoist leader Sabyasachi Panda alias Sunil, who was arrested in Badabazar area
in Berhampur in Ganjam district late on Thursday night, informed Odisha
Director General of Police (DGP) Sanjiv Marik.

many as 61 cases. While 21 cases are pending against him in Rayagada district,
25 in Gajapati district, nine in Nayagarh district, two in Ganjam district and
one in Berhampur.”

Stating that Sabyasachi was carrying a reward of Rs 5 lakh on

around 1 am from a house. A joint team of Berhampur police and intelligence
personnel nabbed him. One revolver, 10 mobile phones, one laptop, 500 grams of
gold, two hard discs and five pen drives, besides Rs 2 lakh in cash were
recovered from his possession,” the DGP stated.

for more than two decades. He was the guiding spirit behind formation of Chasi
Mulia Samiti and Kui Lawenga Sangha in 1995 in Rayagada and Gajapati districts.
