Bhubaneswar, November
22: In a major embarrassment to Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, his personal
aide and political programme coordinator Saroj Sahu on Saturday was quizzed by
the CBI for one and half an hour in connection with the mega chit fund scam.
Sahu’s appearance
before the CBI sleuths in the midst of the ongoing probe into the multi-crore
chit fund scam is seen by many as a major jolt for the Chief Minister as he mostly
operates from Naveen Nivas, the Chief Minister’s residence.
Sahu entered the CBI
office at around 2.30 pm and came out at 4 pm. After the interrogation, he
declined to say anything beyond claiming that he was in no way involved in the
chit fund scam.
“I replied to the
queries of the investigating officials,” said Sahu adding that he is in no way
involved in the chit fund scam.
Source said Sahu was
summoned and interrogated about the Seashore Group of Companies on the basis of
certain information obtained during the grilling of broker Subhankar Nayak, who
had been arrested by the central agency on November 18 in connection with the
ponzi scheme scandal.
Sahu is the coordinator
of the Chief Minister’s programmes and works from Naveen Nivas, the latter’s
residence and also from the BJD State party office at Unit VI area.
Sahu’s signature even
figures in statements and press releases issued by the BJD, Sources said he
coordinates the CM’s programmes and mostly operates from Naveen Nivas.

Naveen Patnaik is
facing the heat of chit fund scam like never before as at least three prominent
leaders of his party, including an MP and an MLA have been arrested so far by
the CBI.
