201 Biju Setus, 600km roads this year in Odisha

Bhubaneswar, May 26: The State
Government has set a target to construct 201 more bridges and 600 km roads under
the Biju Setu and the Mukshyamantri Sadak Yojan, respectively, during the
current financial year, 2016-17.
This was informed by Rural
Development Minister Badrinarayan Patra after attending a review meeting of the
department chaired by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik here on Thursday.
It was revealed in the
meeting that by now, 401 bridges and 136 km roads have been constructed under
the two projects, respectively. Further, 100 Model Schools and 200 cyclone
shelters have been constructed in last two years.
The Chief Minister
directed the department to adopt third party assessment of all its projects for
ensuring quality.
Chief Secretary Aditya
Prasad Padhi, Department Secretary Madhusudan Padhi and senior Government
officials were present in the review meeting.
