Bhubaneswar, July 22: Upping
ante against the State Government over the malnutrition death of 18 children at
Nagada in the Sukinda valley of mineral rich Jajpur district, the BJP women
wing on Friday decided to stage dharnas in front of all Child Development
Project Offices (CDPOs) from August 1 to 5 across the State.
Claiming that the State
Government has failed on all fronts, women wing Odisha president Prabhati
Parida after chairing the wing’s state executive body meeting told reporters here
that they will not tolerate the injustice meted out to the women and children
by the Naveen Patnaik Government.
“While the Narendra
Modi Government at the Centre has been successfully implementing various women
and children welfare schemes, including Beti Bacaho, Beti Padhao, why the State
Government has failed to perform in these respects,” questioned Parida.
BJP women wing national
general secretary Saroj Pandey who attended the executive meeting lambasted the
Naveen Patnaik Government on the Nagada issue too.
“Not only the State Government has failed to
implement its own schemes but also failed to utilise the Central funds,” said Pandey.
The executive also
passed a political resolution and a special resolution on the Nagada issue.
