Ongoing big investment projects in Odisha reviewed

Bhubaneswar, Nov 7: The Cabinet Committee Investment Project
Monitoring Group (CCIPMG) headed by Chief Secretary Aditya prasad Padhi reviewed
the progress of various ongoing investment projects in Odisha in two different
sessions at the State Secretariat here on Monday.
Development Commissioner R Balakrishnan, Principal Secretary
PPP and State PMG Pradeep Kumar Jena presented updates of the projects and
outlined the issues for discussion.
“There has been substantial progress in the projects because
of this collaborative action between State and Central Governments machineries.
A number of issues have been resolved,” said Joint Secretary Prime Ministers’
Office Subha Kuma who was present in the meeting. “We are quite satisfied by the progress,” she added.
Available data shows,
around 31 projects in railway, national high way, irrigation, plastic and
polymer cluster, coal block development and power sectors were reviewed. The
issues flagged by the project proponents in the central PMG portal were
analyzed and resolved. Mainly the issues raised by project developers related
to forest clearance, DGPS survey, conduct of socio-economic impact studies,
issue of FRA certificate, environmental clearance, rehabilitation against the
land acquisition, distribution of compensatory awards and ex-gratia grants,
starting of mining operations at the ground level etc. 
The principal railway projects reviewed in the meeting
included Khurda-Bolangir new BG rail link estimated at Rs 3550 crore,
Samabkpur-Bamur railway doubling estimated (Rs 1,111crore), Haridaspur-Paradeep
rail link of 82 kms, Talcher-Bimlagarh new rail line (Rs 8,111 crore),  Angul-Sukinda new line project (Rs 638 crore)
and Jharsuguda-Barpali-Sardega railway line (Rs 700 crore).
The national Highway projects reviewed were Tileibani-Sambalpur
Section  NH-6 with estimated cost of
around Rs 752 crore, Binjhabahal-Tileibani section on NH-6 (Rs 1,057 crore),
Singara-Binjhabahal section on NH-6 (Rs 1,082 crore), Baharagora-Singara
section on NH-6 (Rs 734 crore), six laning of Bhubaneswar-Chandikhol section on
NH-5 with involving investment of Rs 1,047 crore, Chandikhol-Duburi-Talcher
section (Rs 996 crore), Angul-Sambalpur Toll Road project (Rs 1,220 crore),
Cuttack-Angul toll way project (Rs 1,124 crore).
Besides, the coal, mine and power projects like 1 MT Alumina
refinery of NALCO at Damnajodi, 
Anrak Aluminum Ltd.,  MCL projects at Jagannath OCP, Bhubaneswari
OCP, Natraj Under Ground mine, Hingula OCP, Kaniha OCP, Ananta Extn OCP, Orient
underground OCP, Darlipali STPP stage-1, Lanco Babandh power ltd, Odisha Ultra
Mega Power Project and KVK Nilachal Power Pvt Ltd were also reviewed.
The progress of the projects namely Telengiri medium
irrigation project estimated around  Rs 614
crore, Plastic Polymers and Allied cluster involving investment of Rs 1,000 crore,
Common System associated with east coast Railway Energy Pvt Ltd and NCC Power
Projects ltd. envisaging  investment of
Rs 2743 crore  were also reviewed  in the meeting.
