Trial run between Rajsunakhala-Bolagarh route conducted

Bhubaneswar, Dec 4:  The
Railways on Sunday conducted the speed trial run of a train on the 13km stretch
between Rajsunakhala and Bolagarh of 289-km long Khurda Road-Bolangir railway line
project to check for faults in the newly laid railway lines, giving hope to Bolgarh
residents about passenger trains starting in the near future.
The test run was conducted in the presence of Sudarshan
Nayak, Chief Commissioner Railway Safety of the Ministry of Civil Aviation. He inspected
the new line for its certification before a passenger train is run.
The line is planned to be commissioned very shortly after
certification from the Commissioner of Railway Safety.
ECoR Chief Administrative Officer (Construction) SB Ninawe,
Divisional Railway Manager of Khurda Road Debaraj Panda, Chief Track Engineer Sankarshan
Nayak and Deputy Chief Engineer (Construction) SK Parida were also present on
the occasion.
The train service along the Khurda Road-Bolangir railway line
project has been completed upto Rajsunakhala. The passenger train till Rajsunakhala
was flagged off in November last year.
On July 16 last year, Union Railways Minister Suresh Prabhu
had flagged off the first-ever train to run on the 32 km stretch of Khurda
Road-Begunia section of the Khurda-Bolangir track at Begunia station.
