Fire safety drill held at SAI International School

Bhubaneswar: A day-long fire and evacuation drill, to create awareness among teachers and students, on how to take safety measures during fire mishaps, was held at the SAI International School here.

Officials from the local Fire Services led by Bhubaneswar Deputy Fire Officer Ramesh Chandra Majhi taught the teachers and students various rescue methods, including pressing fire alarms and operating fire extinguishers to douse the flames, emergency exits, and how to respond swiftly in times of such emergency situations on Monday.

Chandrasekharpur Fire Station officer Ajaya Barada briefed about building evacuation at the time of fire and explained about the different types of fire, how to use the fire extinguisher and which type of extinguisher to be used at the different types of fire in detail.

The team also conducted a mock fire drill for all the teachers and staff of SAI International School and SAI Angan.

Armed with necessary equipment required for fire-fighting and rescue operations Fire-fighters assisted the teachers and students in the mock fire and evacuation drill.
