Kalahandi: Guru Purnima was celebrated with pomp and gaiety on Tuesday here by Prativa, a premier socio-cultural organisation in Kalahandi district.
On the occasion, two noted teachers – Bhimsen Sahoo and Loknath Khuntia – were felicitated with ‘Gurushree’ Award.
Cultural programmes were also held on the auspicious day. Guru Purnima is the celebration of the pious and divine relationship of the Guru and the disciple.
Organisation secretary Chintu Prasad Nayak, vice president Debesh Kumar Singh, Tapas Kumar Patel, Tarun Durga, Gouri Durga, Subham Pradhan, Namita Mishra, Jajnaseni Nayak, Snigdha Sahani, Jyotiprabha Mohanty, Bhargabi Tripathy and Nilanchal Pan graced the occasion.
