Odisha CM flags off 84 BLS Ambulances

Bhubaneswar, January 1: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Friday flagged off a total of 84 Basic Life Support (BLS) Ambulances to strengthen the ‘108’ Ambulance service in the State on virtual mode. Carrying ‘108’ number, these ambulances will serve at all corners of the State.

Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister said that the Government was committed to improve the health services and this objective was a focus of the 5T initiatives and Mo Sarkar.

Maintaining that there was already a significant improvement in the functioning of health centres and hospitals, the Chief Minister advised to create new benchmarks in the standard of medical services.

He also advised to train the ambulance staff to handle the patients and relatives empathetically. He stressed on use of technology for intensive monitoring of service parameters of ambulance services.

Health & Family Welfare Minister Naba Kishore Das, Chief Secretary Suresh Chandra Mohapatra, ACS (H&FW) PK Mohapatra also spoke on the occasion.
