Puri, November 28: Shree Jagannath Temple here will remain shut for public darshan of the deities on Monday (tomorrow) from 4 PM onwards for the conduct of secret ‘Paita Lagi’ rituals.
“Shree Mandira will be closed for public darshan tomorrow, i.e. Monday (29.11.2021) on Margasira Krushna Dashami Tithi from 4 pm onwards, for the Pita Lagi ritual of the deities,” informed the Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) in a tweet today.
The secret ritual will be conducted by the Singhari servitors after the completion of the second Bhoga Mandap between 4 PM to 8 PM.
As per the rituals, the Singhari sevayats will cover the body of the sibling deities – Lord Jagannath, Goddess Subhadra and Lord Balabhadra with a special silk cloth called ‘Basunga Patta’ on which sandalwood paste will be rubbed subsequently.
The Shree Mandira has remained closed for the devotees today (Sunday) for sanitization purposes to prevent the further spread of the COVID-19 virus.
