Bhubaneswar-Dubai direct flight on Monday

Bhubaneawar, May 15: Direct flight service between Bhubaneawar and Dubai will be launched on Monday at the Biju Patnaik International Airport here.

IndiGo’s Airbus-320 will operate from here thrice a week. The much-awaited flight will open the gateway to south-east Asian countries.

On April 1, on the occasion of Utkal Divas – the foundation day of the State of Odisha, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik launched the ticket sales.
He handed over the first eight tickets to Mission Shakti women, sportspersons, tribal leaders, skilled-in-Odisha students and artists.
Inaugural ticket prices have been pegged at Rs 10,000 (one way) Rs 20,000 for a round trip. Each flight will have this subsidised ticket on a first come first serve basis.
IndiGo will offer the service three times per week, on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.
The Biju Patnaik International Airport (BPIA) here has received the flight schedule for the operation. The international terminal building whose makeover was underway will be fully ready much ahead of the operation.
