BJD’s Dipali Das secures landslide victory in Jharsuguda by-poll

Jharsuguda, May 13: BJD’s Dipali Das on Saturday won the Jharsuguda Assembly bypoll by defeating her nearest rival, Tankadhar Tripathy of the BJP, by over 48,000 votes.

While Dipali got more than 1.07 lakh votes, the BJP got 58,000 and Congress finished a distant third with 4,400 votes.

The by-election was necessitated following the murder of sitting MLA and the then Health Minister of the State Naba Kishore Das, father of Dipali Das, on January 29 this year.

Dipali (27) has completed her B Com from K C College in Mumbai in 2018 and MBA from the EU Business School in Barcelona, Spain in 2020.
