Bhubaneswar, November 21: Vigilance officials on Thursday arrested Sonepur (Subarnapur) Civil Supplies Officer (CSO) Suresh Kumar Panigrahi in disproportionate assets (DA) case.
Panigrahi was found in possession of disproportionate assets including 2 buildings, one farm house spread over four acres of land with 500 teak trees, 19 plots, including 3 in Bhubaneswar, 4 in Sambalpur, 1 in Bolangir, and 11 in Bargarh district, deposits of over Rs 1.72 crore and Rs 1.49 lakh of cash during searches conducted by the anti-corruption wing officials on his properties.
Panigrahi, who joined Government service in 1994 as Inspector of Supplies, was promoted to CSO in August 2020. He has been serving in Sonepur district since November 2021.
The search operations were carried out by a team comprising three Additional Superintendents of Police, three Deputy Superintendents, seven Inspectors, and other personnel.
