Bhubaneswar, January 8: Prime Minister Narendra Modi was accorded a rousing welcome at the Biju Patnaik International Airport after arriving here on Wednesday evening to inaugurate the Pravasi Bharatiya Divas on Thursday.
Governor Dr Hari Babu Kambhampati, Chief Minister Mohan Majhi, Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, state BJP president Manmohan Samal, among others, welcomed the PM at the airport.
“Landed in Bhubaneswar a short while ago. Looking forward to joining the Pravasi Bharatiya Divas 2025 tomorrow,” tweeted Modi.
He will inaugurate the 18th Pravasi Bharatiya Divas and address the diaspora at Janata Maidan, besides inaugurate the five exhibitions, including the Vishwaroop Ram: The Universal Legacy of Ramayana by ICCR.
The Prime Minister will also remotely flag-off the inaugural journey of the Pravasi Bharatiya Express, a special tourist train for the Indian diaspora, which will depart from the Nizamuddin railway station in Delhi and would travel to multiple destinations of tourism and religious importance in India for three weeks.
