Bhubaneswar, Aug 25:
Though late, the Congress has shown interest to keep up its tradition to
find out what caused massive failure for the party in the general elections in
Odisha. The brainstorming will be on August 27 and 28.
“The AICC general secretary and in-charge of State party
affairs BK Hariprasad and his deputy Subhankar Sarkar will hold discussion with
all the 33 organisational district presidents and party candidates fielded for
all 147 Assembly and 21 Lok Sabha candidates on August 27 and 28,
respectively,” said Pradesh Congress president Jayadev Jena after meeting
Hariprasad in New Delhi.
He also informed that intraparty disputes would also be
discussed.
“A thorough discussion will be held to find out the reason
for poor performance of the party in the election and also the ongoing attack
and counter attacks among the leaders,” Jena added.
Notably, earlier this week former Union Minister and senior
party leader Srikant Jena had questioned the PCC president as to why a review
meeting for party’s defeat would not be convened even though two months have
passed since the polls.
