Bhubaneswar, Sep 14: International athlete Purnima Hembram
has bagged the prestigious 22nd Ekalabya Award for the award year 2014. She has
a brilliant international and national track record for the past two years and
has bagged gold and silver medals.

She will get a cash
award of Rs 2 lakh along with citation at the Ekalabya Award function. Besides
Purnima Hembram, two other sportspersons-Rasanara Parbin and rower Manjula Xess
will be felicitated for remarkable performances in various International and
national level championships in their respective fields. Both will receive a
cash prize of Rs 50,000 each along with citations. The date for Ekalabya Award
function will be announced later.
