Naveen urges Modi for funds for early construction of NINEI

Bhubaneswar, Aug 23: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Tuesday
urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi for allocation of necessary funds to take up
early construction of the National Institute of New Energy and Innovation (NINEI)
in Bhubaneswar.
The Chief Minister, in a letter to the Prime Minister said
the State Government has allocated 73.680 acre of land free of cost in
Bhubaneswar for the proposed National Institute of New Energy and Innovation.
“We are also committed to provide the necessary
infrastructure support for this landmark project,” assured the letter.
“I, therefore, request you to take up early construction of
the NINEI at Bhubaneswar by allocating necessary funds for the purpose so as to
enable the institute to start its activities at the earliest,” said the letter.
Earlier on February 5 this year, Patnaik too urged Modi for
early announcement of Centre’s plan to set up of the National Institute of New
and Renewable Energy in Odisha.
