Bhubaneswar: The Naveen Patnaik Government has once again struck corrupt Government officials and this time dismissed from service six more officers from various departments and directed discontinuation of pension for four retired officers charged with corruption.
Junior clerk Sanjit Kumar Ray working with Kuanrmunda Tehsil under Sundergarh Collectorate of Commerce and Transport Department, former Assistant Engineer of Baripada ITDA, Baikuntha Bihari Pradhan, Dr Bhagirathi Biswal of Fisheries and Animal Husbandry Department, Junior Engineer Basant Kumar Patra of Panchayati Raj and Drinking Water Department posted in Dhenkanal, Kutra block Panchayat Executive Officer Trilochan Seth under Sundargarh Collectorate and Bonai block Panchayat Executive Officer Astam Chandra Patel were dismissed from the services.
The officials whose pension has been stopped are former Executive Engineer in Water Resources Department Goutam Chandra Prusty, former GM of OCC Bikram Keshari Patnaik, Rabindra Kumar Jena, former Establishment Officer Office of Chief Engineer, Sewerage Board office in Cuttack and former Junior Engineer in Baripada ITDA, Rabi Narayan Mohanty.
Earlier this month, the Chief Minister dismissed at least 15 officers of various departments from service and discontinued pension of two officers charged with corruption in the Vigilance Court.
Focusing on State Government’s Zero Tolerance policy against corruption, the Chief Minister reiterated focus on transparency for efficient administration and all-round development of the state and State Government’s Zero Tolerance policy against corruption.
This is part of the BJD Government’s major crackdown on officials indulging in alleged corruption practices.
