All 20 Ministers of Odisha Cabinet resign ahead of reshuffle

Bhubaneawar, June 4: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Saturday asked all his 20 Ministers to resign ahead of the maiden reshuffle of his Council of Ministers in the current term of his three-year-old Cabinet on Sunday.

Governor Ganeshi Lal is likely to administer oath of office and secrecy to the new Ministers at 11.45 AM on Sunday, said sources.

It is for the first time that the Patnaik, a fifth term Chief Minister asked his entire team of Ministers to quit before taking up the reshuffle. This will be the first reshuffle in the three-year-old Ministry.

The reshuffle comes a day after Naveen Patnaik-led BJD won the Brajarajnagar Assembly by-election.

Patnaik has stuck to his team of 20 since he took over in the current fifth term on May 29, 2019. In his earlier four terms, he has altogether dropped 45 Ministers over different reasons.
