In view of nearly 10, 000 school teachers not getting proper training facility
due to lack of training centres, the Odisha Government has decided to set up six
District Institutes of Education and Training (DIETs) in six districts in the
State soon.
“The DIETs will be
opened in Malkangiri, Nuapada, Boudh, Jharsuguda, Deogarh and Sonepur districts.
Earlier, only 24 districts of the State had DIETs,” said Scholl and Mass
Education Minister Debi Prasad Mishra.
He informed that the
State Finance department has approved the proposal after the recommendation of
the Teacher Educational Research Appraisal Board.
With the opening of six
more DIETs nearly 3000 teachers can impart training annually while 50 more

The DIETs provide
